PTAs with Royal connections!
01 June 2022
Welcome to the Royal School Association PTA, who are taking part in the Big PTA Summer Raffle for the first time. Dating back to 1840, and originally the Royal Naval School, The Royal School came under the patronage of HM Queen Elizabeth II upon her Majesty's ascension to the throne in 1952. Their President is HRH The Princess Royal, who assumed the role in 1975.
We also welcome back the Royal Alexandra and Albert School. Dating back to 1760, the school originally opened as a boarding school for orphaned boys and started taking girls a couple of years later. In 1949, the Royal Alexandra School and the Royal Albert School (founded in 1864 as a national memorial to Prince Albert) united to become the Royal Alexandra and Albert School. The school has enjoyed extensive Royal Patronage over the years, including their current Royal Patron Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Their President is Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester.
With so many royal connections, we wish both PTAs the best of luck in the Big PTA Summer Raffle and a wonderful Jubilee weekend.
